With over a decade of leadership experience, Dr. Smith serves professionally as an Area Administrator with the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS), where he oversees operations, develops leaders, and impacts the lives of vulnerable children and families. His work bridges the gap between athletics, mentorship, and community transformation, using sports as a vehicle to combat trauma, violence, and systemic barriers facing today’s youth.

A man of faith, Dr. Smith’s journey is one of redemption, purpose, and calling. Once shaped by the harsh realities of inner-city life, he now stands as a mentor, pastor, and builder of people—committed to helping young men discover their identity, discipline, and worth.

Through his growing national presence, Dr. Smith is leading the Starts Up Front Trench Discovery Camp Tour, traveling across major cities including Chicago, Texas, and Georgia to identify and elevate the top offensive and defensive linemen in the country—while also building a national network of coaches, scouts, and leaders aligned with his vision.
